Hi Maniacs' The latest picture of my Marcos project is posted in the Mike Denman's photo album. Today's picture shows the rear end in primer. Is it ready to paint? No, but I sprayed on a layer of primer to find out what still needed work. After a while it is hard to be objective about what remains to be done. A layer of primer will show all the flaws, pin holes etc. so that you can't ignore them. In my case, the rear end looks pretty good even with the primer in place. I have some pin holes to fill (especially around the spare tire protrusion) and the very bottom corners need a little more work to make them blend perfectly. Most of the pin holes are the result of using a mixture of micro baloons and resin to make a fillet around the spare tire protrusion. The rest of the rear end is relatively clear of pin holes as a result of using peel ply followed by two layers of a slurry made of micro baloons and resin which was painted onto the surface and then sanded off leaving a ultra smooth surface. Tomorrow I hope to finish the problem areas and spray two layers of primer. I'll let the primer cure overnight and spray the color on Saturday. If everything goes according to plan, I will let the color cure till Monday and then start the re-assembly. Mike Denman 1966 Marcos 1800 Chassis #4079
