RE: [MarcosManiacs] Rear Glass Screen

2013-10-11 by Steinpom

Hi Larry,

We think we figured it out using your photos and some drawings that Rory sent me. The subframe seems to be the right dimensions, but the brackets for the suspension have been welded by a previous owner too far forward. The rear lower bracket should be 2” forward of the rear of the frame – mine is at least 2.5”. The front bracket seems to be at least .75” too far forward. How and why someone would do this is beyond me its so obviously wrong since you can’t turn the wheels left or right without jamming up against the headlight bucket. Hopefully when everything is replaced according to spec, it will all fit. I’ll let you know.

Hello Steve,

I have a few issues of Torque and other MOC magazines and am always interested in acquiring more on the rare occasions they come up for sale. Any idea what you want for them? I am currently working on putting a 1600 GT wood chassis #5201 back together after about 30 years apart. Its quite the adventure.

After selling my 3L Volvo automatic, I now have for sale:

- one glass rear screen, with a slight blue tint. Unused since collected from the MOC in 1974. Best offer over £300

- full set of Marcos Owners Club magazines (from no 1 in 1973 almost to date). The first 5 volumes in MOC brown binders. Hundreds of mags, a phenomenal source of marcos information. Also a set of Club Marcos International magazines. Best offer.
