Don, On my car there is a small tank, where the pressure cap fits, between the engine and the radiator but it's never been fitted with an overflow bottle, just a tube for venting to the ground. I've actually looked at the possibility of fitting one but the pressure cap cannot be replaced by the two stage type, which would provide the expansion capability, because the orifice isn't engineered to accommodate one. In my case, a new port (or whatever you call the part to which the pressure cap fits) could be welded in place of the old one but that would also entail getting the tank rechromed as well (I also have a chromed rocker cover and pulleys). I never considered the refinement worth the cost. I wasn't aware that any of the earlier car were originally fitted with expansion bottles, if that's what you are referring to. Mine is missing and I'd like to find something close to original. Thanks.
