My name is Donny Lang and I aquired a 1970 V4 powered Marcos last October. I got one posting outto this group at that time, but days later had a fatal hard drive crash on my computer, losing several replys/contacts. I'm back on line and would like to here from other owners who have fitted the Rover 3.5 or similar-based engines to the steel-framed cars. I have aquired a '63 Buick 215 engine and a Rover SD1 5 spd trans for my conversion. The car is also a rhd model, so I am looking to convert it to left hnd drive. It appears that a spare lhd '72 Spitfire steering rack will interchange. I am also looking at using a Triumph TR8 rear axle to complete the conversion, essentially duplicating a TR8 driveline in the car. The body will be coming off the frame for the rework of the car. Some items I am looking for is the enamel Marcos badge on the bonnet, and one or two Marcos alloy wheels. Otherwise, the car is pretty complete. If anyone else has done a similar conversion, or is working on a similar project, I'd love to hear from you. Any leads on the parts is appreciated. Thanks Indigo@...
