Hi folks,

I just went back and checked the ad. Recognized the dealer name and
damn, it's only 3 hours away in my old hometown of Pleasanton, CA.
Used to hang out at the place. Guess my weekend plans are set!! If
anyone has specific questions about the car, catch me before Saturday.
And yes..........it was a really slow day at work!!!! Lots of time
to surf.

Hi
Jeff,
I'm
new to the Marcos Maniacs, but no so new to the Marcos, having owned mine a 1967
1600 wooden chassis since 1981. That's 21 years ago!!!! Where does time
go?
This
1800 is an interesting and desirable car being an 1800, the pictures are
not that detailed, but from what I can tell from the rear wheel arch's this
could be a very early car, later models including 1500 and 1600 all have small
wheel arch's. The very early 1800 did not.
Unfortunately, there appears to be a few thing wrong.
The bonnet, as we call it here in the UK, is not original.
The
1800 should have a short bonnet, this is the long bonnet from the
later 3.0 cars less the power bulge. But does appear to have the correct
shorter head light covers with the result that the covers don't appear to
be fitted correctly. There is something also strange about the front bumbers,
but this might just be the effect of the longer bonnet.
But
then with Marcos's what's original anyway.....It's still a nice looking car, and
if it were in the UK I'd like it.
