Fuel Tank sender

Fuel Tank sender

2002-06-28 by mark_saxby

Anyone know the source of the fuel tank sender on a V6 3 litre?

The float on mine in holed and it also needs a new gasket as fuel
leaks around the joint.

I've soldered the hole shut a number of times over recent years, but
I think it's time to bite the bullet and get a new one :^)

Cheers,

Mark

Hello Mark
I have been told that the sender unit is MG. I am reasonably sure that the 3Ltr V6 tank is the same as the 1800. how ever the MG sender that I acquired was not the same and there fore although it was lovable it was not at all accurate. I doe under stand that Rory has them in stock.
Not very much help really. Sorry I didn't make it to Castle Combe, I would have liked to speak to you. Perhaps you will be at Curborough over the week end.
Regards Jac

Hi Mark,
I think Halfords has the sending units (or at least it looks like the correct unit based on the photograph). I got a free gasket for my sending unit from the firm that advertises in their catalog as doing repairs etc. on Smiths instruments after writing them a email.
