Hi
Larry,
There
is no mount on the frame for the manual shift lever. The 3LV Marcos has a
modified gear box cover/extension which is different from the standard Volvo
item. I don't recall the exact alteration but it essentially positions the
gearstick in the correct place in the transmission tunnel. In the 3 LV Marcos,
the gearstick has a rubber boot, is free floating and is positioned in the
centre of a leather covered fibreglass tray over the transmission
tunnel.
The
clutch slave cylinder mounts on the bottom left side of the bell housing. There
should be 2 bolt holes adjacent to the clutch thrust lever. Unfortunately, the
clutch slave cylinder is just about the lowest point of the engine/transmission
so it would be worthwhile protecting it with a skid plate. I've already had mine
sheared off the bell housing once and I had to remove the engine and gearbox in
order to have it welded back in place.
If you
have any specific questions, please get back to me. If I have to look
things up in past magazines, answers would have to wait until I go home on the
weekend.
Regards,
Paul

I am about to replace the automatic transmission with an M410 with OD in
my 1970 Marcos 3LV and would like to know if the plate on the frame that the
shift lever mounts, to has to be removed? Also, where does the
slave cylender mount for the through lever?
