Marcos Maniacs

I have been looking at buying a 1969 Marcos V6 in Australia but the 
ID plate mounted next to the battery has 'MARCOS GT 1600' stamped on 
the top. The chassis number matches the type i.e. steel chassis V6 
but why the '1600' on the ID plate? Are all the ID plates the same?? 
If not, are there any pictures out there of the correct ID plate for 
this model or at least confirmation of what it should read?

What is the chassis # ?  Can you give out the owner's name?  I may 
be able to help.

The Mantis XP race car has a 1600 serial plate also!  Maybe they 
just had some left over.  MIne says "3 Litre".
