May "Car of the Month"

May "Car of the Month"

2004-05-03 by Don Lattimer

Hi all,

This month it's mine! Just finished putting on the new 16" wheels today.
Had to wait four months for the hubs (and then one was broken and the studs
fell out of the other). But all is well. Going to a club meet next week
about 60 miles away so will get a good idea of how it rides. Seems great so
far but just been around town.

Real light on messages last month......................Everyone I assume is
working feverishly to get their Marcos on the road?

Welcome to the new members and get those Marcos' rollin' !!

Dear Don,

We all know you have a wonderfully beautiful car but keep in mind that you
are not the only Marcos GT owner, ok?

If you count back the number of times you have had your car as car of the
month compared to the number of Marcos GT's then I think yours will outweigh all
the others.

Not to be a California antagonist, mind you ...I don't even have one ... yet.

Lovingly,

Svelte Bat

I beg to differ !! The only other time it was COM was when it was pictured with Mark Petrinovich's GT at Sears Point Raceway. I have tried to be fair when posting the COM pix. Only recently have I started to put on pix of cars from other parts of the world besides North America. Everyone deserves a chance.
Besides..............who keeps this site going ????????? :-)

Hi Don,
It's OK. He's mistaken. Besides, you deserve to show off your new wheels. You've earned it.

Good to hear you got it together.
I have been removing the paint from my 1970 3L Volvo for the past three months an re fairing the body. Am about ready to squirt the primer the weeks of blocking and fairing for the top coat. Desided to do this While waiting for all the parts for the tranny to get here. (changing to manual OD). A/C needs all new hoses, compressor, drier and expansion valve. It is taking a lot longer than I had hoped, but will be woth it. I haven't driven it since 1987.

Thre was a recent discussion about that on the Marcos Forum (UK):
