RE: [MarcosManiacs] Volvo clutch slave cylinder
2004-06-11 by pauldransfield@iname.com
Larry,
I took
a look at the slave cylinder on the web site and it looks identical to the one
on my car. The cylinder does hang downwards such that it's lowest point is at
the same level as the bottom of the bell housing and it has grazed the ground on
occasion. I had the misfortune to shear the corner of the bell housing off a few
years ago when the slave cylinder caught on a concrete lip whilst backing up. I
had to remove the engine and gearbox in order to have it welded back on. I've
been intending on making a skid plate to prevent a recurrence but haven't had
time since I took this contract in the US. However, my car rides half an inch
higher since I installed my new wheels and tires so the urgency has diminished.
I haven't installed the slave cylinder which I got from England yet so I'll take
a close-up shot of that too. The one on the car has a broken bolt hole from a
prior mishap which causes it to be slightly askew.

Paul

I have a #l volvo and was able to use a Volvo slave cylinder I got from IPD(www.ipdusa.com, 1 800 444 6473) It does hang down from the housing so it is the lowest part on the car, a problem I haven't solved yet. It is B 18 part #VB5A9002.
