I took a look and it appears to be an original 3 litre Volvo converted to
soft top, which would be much more comfortable to drive in the summer than
the coupe. It has the original cosmic wheels and 6 cylinder engine. It's a
pity the mileage wasn't listed but the B30A drivetrain is strong and can be
easily rebuilt. The body looks to be in good shape but it's difficult to
tell from a few photos. A new windscreen is around $1000 FOA USA, $1000 plus
for a decent paint job and say $1000 for a new top (I haven't a clue
really). Mine is valued at around US$21,000, so I'd say the price isn't bad.
However, being located in Cape Cod may be a warning to check out the chassis
up front. It's likely the salt air has caused deterioration if it hasn't
been kept dry.

I'd definately check the to see what mods were made to the frame to strenghten it to be a drop-top. I wasn't aware the factory did that. Never heard of it before. Highly unlikely but I could be wrong.

Don, MARCOS factory produced from the type "Fastback" the
first "Spyder". As far as I know only 1 car. The next convertible was
a Mantula Spyder in 1986. In the 70´s they did not produce
convertible cars. It looks great, but I believe the car was changed
from one of the preowners.

I know a Mantula Sypder from Florida. This Mantula was a Coupé and in
the USA it was changed in a convertible Mantula.

CF1700GT

Hi All!
The convertible version is strengthened with alumium panelling. But there can be a problem with cracks in the flooring behind the seats as the load here is very high. (same problem as with Lotus 7 s2, the chassis is not up to the job). The Volvo B30 is a big and very dependable "lump" and it is much heavier than the Rover (nee Buick) 3500 so take great care examining the chassis!

--- Hi everyone,
I'm still confused about this car. Was it "converted(iblized)" at
the factory or post-production?? If post production I would think
that's why the windshield is cracked, due to torsional stressors,
and replacement windshield might sucumb to the same fate.
By the way Ron, it hasn't really snowed here until I can't open the
back door and the roof is sagging, everthing else is just a mere
dusting. All the Marcii around here started out as 32 Fords with a
Chevy small block, 4 wheel drive, and it usually takes a six foot
ladder and a mastery of Yoga to get in them.
Anyone going to the ALMS race at Road America this weekend?? I'll
see you there. I'm usually on pit row, my firesuit has blue on the
bottom,. green swoopy stripe, and red on top with Marcos embroidered
on the back.

I noticed that it disappeared off Ebay yesterday. Did anyone happen
to contact the seller?

A little bit far for me to drive to the race. I missed the ALMS
race at Sears Point also.
