If anyone is interested, I, out of nescessity tuned new bushings for the rear suspension on my Volvo powered Marcos. The rubber bushings are only availible from Heritage @ 3.85 Pounds ea. plus the extreemly high cost of shipping. I made them from DELRIN like the street rods use and worked out to about $4.50 apiece including labor.
I have enough material for one more set (16 pcs) as There is a min. order on the material, enough for two sets..
Also, I needed the plastic tube caps for the frame and ordered the min. (100 pcs). If anyone need these they are $.30 ea.
I am fairing the body for paint and hope to start re assembly in about 6 weeks. Want to finish before hot weather comes.

Hi everyone
Like Larry I use Delrin bushes for my race car suspension. I also
stock Superflex poly bushes for both wood and steel frame cars. These are
mid way between the stock rubber and Delrin in stiffness and are a good
compromise between better handling and not overstiffening the suspension.

E mail me if you are interested.

Here is a website that was sent to me by members of
the Bugeye Sprite Group thought some members of the
Marcos group may be interested.

Thanks, Bob! I appreciate your sending out that link to Rae Davis' website.
Did anyone else see the SpeedVision coverage of the Goodwood races last
month on cable TV? The thrilling saloon car race that was won by the little
Austin A35 over the big Jaguar MkIIs was the best race of the lot. And
guess who was driving that red Austin A35? Rae Davis.

As for the Mini Marcos, it may not win any beauty contests, especially
compared with the artistry inherent in Dennis Adams' designs, but it is a
remarkably effective little device and a blast to drive... kind of like a
go-kart for the street.

For those of you that haven't yet seen it, I highly recommend you visit the
Mini Marcos website run by Richard Porter in the UK. It's a remarkable
achievement, and the Mini Marcos Forum section of that website has been
growing especially rapidly.

As a Virginia boy, I've got to say that wintertime in Arizona is
fantastic... have had the Mini Marcos out on every weekend opportunity (it
was 65 degrees F here today and -- you guessed it -- sunny), but the summers
are a real test of cooling system capabilities!

Best Regards to All,
Andy

""As a Virginia boy, I've got to say that wintertime

Andy,

Where are you from in Virginia? I was born and raised
and lived in Fairfax. After 50 years of life in the
"Capital Beltway Rat Race" we decided in Feb of 04 to
relocate to Blue RIdge, VA which is 10 miles north of
Roanoke, VA. I love the hills of VA and enjoy driving
the mountains and the Blue Ridge Parkway in my Marcos
and my Austin Healey Sprite.

BTW - the A35 is the car that most of the mechanicals
for the Sprite were derived. The A35 is also a
unibody construction like the Sprite. The Mini Marcos
as you probably already know uses the sidewinder
version of the same motor used in the Sprite and A35.

I raced my Sprite in H-Production in the 70's and
always wanted to try one of the Mini Coopers. When I
got involved with the Marcos GT I did not know what a
Mini Marcos was. Based on the performance of the
Sprites and Mini Coopers I can only imagine the fun
and thrill of driving a Mini Marcos through some of
the mountain pass roads here in Blue Ridge.

PS: I did run a Sprite in March 2000 at PIR. AZ was
different for me, not sure I could take the heat it,
was 98 degrees in early March. I had to be reminded
several times to make sure to drink a lot of water. I
also learned very quickly not to put wrenches and hand
tools down in the direct sunlight as they had a
tendency to get hotter than exhaust manifolds.
