Got my 1600GT home, not encouraged so far.....

Got it home, not encouraged so far.
Definitely has some rot, but I will not be able to asses it properly until morning.

Doors do not close and align properly, which I expect is a bad sign.

Plexi is all murky, windshield is scrap, some crazing in the body gel-coat.

Appears to have been painted with a spray can, covering old bonnet damage.
This car clearly never had any special attention lavished on it, the $25,000 figure the wife
gave me must have been her dream!

The wheels may clean up OK, they are genuine magnesium Mini-lite.

The Maaazzzzdaaaa engine is mounted WAY too far forward, and is clearly far too heavy
for the suspension.
Car was running when parked, I suspect that the weight balance was so fouled up that it
just became too twitchy to keep driving.

First order of business will be "Before" pics and hosing off the loose crud.
Then a complete assessment of just what I have done to myself, so far it appears that I
may be a several years getting this one back on the road.
The '77 Alfa Spyder I bought for the engine and trans (Whole car $500!) may have to
become my daily summer driver until the Marcos is MUCH further along.

Sorry to hear about the condition. If you want to chat about the rebuild
options, give me a call. I have made some changes to mine in the rebuild
process and am about to start on the second one.
