Rear brake hose

Rear brake hose

2006-05-03 by Hampton Peterson

Hi all,
does anyone know what other car the rear brake hose on a 1970 3 Litre
fits? I'm trying to cross reference to get a new one. It is a little
over 13" long (which is longer than the front GT6 type so I can't use
one of those).
Thanks in advance,
Hampton

Hampton,
Don't know if any other car's will fit. I ordered a set of stainless lines from Marcos Heritage Spares but it wasn't cheap (shipping $ hurts). You can have them made up locallly for less. The improvement on mine was substantial!

Hampton, You might try Ted Shumacher at TSI Automotive in Pandora, Ohio (419-543-6648). He specilizes in British sports racing, and specifically Triumph TR8. He offers SS brake lines for several different models, as well as Kevlar brake linings for rear drums on your old backing plates. He might make them up at his shop, so if you know the length, he can likely set you up. Please report back if he does make them.
Good luck - Donny Lang #5514

Hampton,
Do what I did and go for braided stainless lines. You will need
adaptors at each end but they are much more reliable and look great. E mail
me if you can't find a supplier. The make is Aeroquip and your local
hydraulics supply shop should have what you need.

Garry

PS take in the old hose and they will give you the correct fittings and make
it to length.
