Depends on condition of frame, engine, paint, etc. I've seen them
go for $3k up to over $20k. Got any pix you can put in the "photos"
section?

Where are you located? What is the serial # of your car? I know of
some folks looking for a Marcos in California.

Don is correct. Because there are so few in the US it is difficult to show a
trend in prices. The going rate for good condition early steel frame cars in
the UK is around 7K pounds ( about $13,000) . However I was at an auction in
England in Feb. and a '69 3 Ltr with a similar racing spec to mine sold for
around 16,000 pounds ( about $30,000). Early wood frame cars with a racing
pedigree are selling for 35,000 pounds ( $70,000) as they are still winning
races. On the other hand the rarity value is greater here in the US which
should help values somewhat.
One suprising fallout of my racing the 3ltr. this year has been the interest
from others in buying one to race. Even though we have not had much success
so far, the car has been on the front cover of two vintage racing magazines
so that may be a route to sell your car. Send me some pictures if you would
be interested in trying to sell it to the racing community.

RE: [MarcosManiacs] Re: selling my 1971 V6 steel tube frame 4 speed spyder

With all that said what does the group think the
following car might be worth??

1985 Marcos Manutla 3.5 FI, five speed, with 10,000
original miles, posi trac rear, a/c, power windows all
orginal interior and paint. All the paper work
indicates the car as the factory demo assembled in
Calif and was also the Riverside Raceway pace car in
1986 (paperwork from classic motors, florida indicates
this haven't been able to confirm).

Any thoughts (would like to upgrade to a GT40....lol)

Mike,

Please don't upgrade to the GT40 until after the Motor
Madness here in Roanoke over July 3 & 4th. Would like
to see you bring it out for the party. I am planning
a gathering of all the European cars at my business
location on the 3rd with a procession to the curise in
at 4pm. This could be billed as the largest gathering
of Marcos cars on the East Coast.

2006-05-17 by Mike Sullivan

BTW how was VIR. I had a friend race his porsche (hit
145 mph) there. He saw the Marcos but did not see it
run the track.

I have a 35ft RV that will be towing the car. Do you
have a place for it? If not and the wife decides not
to go (we will just be getting back from a 5 day
vacation the week before) then I will drive up and
stay the night(s). Hotels??

What I really need it to get new shocks. The springs
are good (only 10K on the car as you know). I would
like adjustables but I haven't really found what shock
I need for the Mantula. Still looking...

Hope to be there on the 3rd.

SW Virginia Motor Madness

2006-05-20 by Bob Magnotti

Mike,

You can park your RV on the lot where my business is
located and will also be the site of Magnotti's
Pre-Motor Madness gathering of all the European cars.
There is a power pole for you to hook to also. There
are also several hotels, check out the Hotel Roanoke,
an old Grand Hotel from the Railroad era.

I have already started billing the event as the
largest gathering of Marcos Cars on the East Coast.
All other Marcos Owners who want to be at this
gathering are invited to join.

Check out details of the main event at:
www.starcitymotormadness.com

I am planning the Pre-Motor Madness gathering at my
shop on the main street leading into Downtown Roanoke.
All the owners of exotic and foreign cars in the
valley and region are invited to join us for a lunch
cook out and show. Then a procession to the Cruise
In. I am anticipating having TVRs, Cobras, Astons,
Marcos, Healeys, possibly a Maserati or two, Ferraris
and others.

Drop me a note and let me know if you plan on
attending.
