troubled completion

To all Maniacs,
I have my car mostly together but have run into a lot of problems. (Volvo 3L)
Every new or rebuilt part(water pump, fuel pump, starter and altinator) that I repaced turned out to be of such inferior quality that I have had to reinsall all the old origional parts. The origional alternator is being rebuilt by a local rebuilder that has done work for me before. They are more costly than the auto parts store but I can count on their work.
For the fuel pump, I installed an electric (Faucit) pump.
The water pump had been remanufactured too many times so that the outlet ports were over size enough that the 'O' ring seals weren't tight enough to keep them from leaking.
The starter would only bearly fit in the mount reciever and the pinion would not engage into the flywheel gear.
The engine runs very smooth and starts at the touch of the key. As soon as I return from vacation, I am going for a short shakedown cruise (middle of July),
Regards to all,
Larry
