1969 Marcos GT 3L V6 Wooden chassis s/n 3L5365

2009-05-06 by patemery@sympatico.ca

Hi everyone!

I am stock for parts to complete the rebuilding of this SALISBURY rear axle. The shop was successful in finding Differential Case bearings, Drive Pinion bearings and oil seal.

I need to locate:

a) (2) Axle Shaft Oil Seal , p/n RETAINERS 3HA-027;

b) (2) Rear Hub Grease Seal and Gaskets, p/n ?,

c) (2) Axle Shaft Cone Bearing, p/n TIMKEN 14130X;

d) (2) Axle Shaft Bearing Cup, p/n TIMKEN 14276.

The Differential Case is stamped 7HA004 A69 ; 857 and it is essentially the same unit as my DAIMLER SP250, which is p/n 7HA-101-6. The axle shaft bearings (item c) and d) and oil seals (item a) are the same part number as the SP250. But I am not sure about the grease seals. On the SP250, it is p/n HA-057 for the seals and HA-031 for the gaskets.

Question: Does anyone know where I can source the missing items, especially the grease seals?

Thank you for your help.

Pat,
I also am trying to locate the crown and pinion for my Salisbury 7AH rear axel. I have all the bearings and seals, but the gears are baddly pitted from rust from a 12 year storage. I am using a Ford 105E rear end that Donny Lang gave me so I could get the car on the road. Works well, but revs too high for highway driving.Would be nice to find taller gears for it. If you hear about any gears, let me know, please.

Here is the email of a very helpful man whose business is just rebuilding
rear axles. He is also an enthusiast and I feel sure he could source
anything you need for a final drive.
