Marcos Parts (Wooden)

2011-03-01 by bennywhiz

Before all this stuff goes on ebay, I thought some of you chaps might need some bits for your restoration. My Marcos #5131 is now being set-up to go racing, so these parts are surplus.

4 - Superlite wheels 15"x7" PCD 3 3/4" complete with Yoko 195/55R15
     ES100 tires less than 200 mls. $650.00.
     Almost new Ford T9 5-speed. $450.00.
     Rear spoiler fibreglass $200.00.
Black carpet set almost new $200.00.
     Original pedal box & modified
box for dual brake pedals. $150.00.
     Various dashes $50.00.
     Recovered dash top $50.00.
Set of Spax shocks rear has
     original springs $125.00.
     Heater vents and pipes $25.00.
     boot hinges $10.00.
     2 New front bumpers & 2
     originals. $100.00
     Recovered underdash panel $25.00.
Some other bits a pieces, will let the lot go for reasonable price!

Hi:

Just a comment.

I have a tvr 2500M track car that I am putting back into street trim.

The number of people wanting to buy a track only car is very limited.

Of the people interested most wanted to purchase the road trim parts anyway.

You might consider keeping all the parts for the day when you might want to sell
the car.

Also at many of the vintage events there is a move to race cars with full
interiors and road plates.

You can track the car and drive it on the street giving it alot more use.

Regards
Robin

Where are you located for shipping purposes? I could be intrested in your wheels. Are they 8 or 10 spoke? What is the offset (this should be stamped on the front of the rim by the valvestem)?
Thanks- Donny

I am located in B.C. Canada, Vancouver Island. I have a correction, the wheels are 15'X6" 8 spoke with a 24mm offset, no problems when on my Marcos. Thanks.

Hi Robin, I do appreciate what you are saying, my intention is to eliminate road cars from my shop, also I get much more enjoyment from building than driving, the only driving now is racing, so if you know of a TVR with 1600 xflow for sale please let me know as that is the last car needed for my collection (must be a race car)

Hi:

Which TVR are you looking for?

What part of the world do you live?

Did you ever look at Ginetta's?

I have a TVR Track car, an Audi 4000 turbo quattro track car. a Lotus 7 track
car and a Audi S2 rally car.
The hassle of packing up the cars and going to a place to drive them has really
put me off.

I want to have all my cars street legal in some form or another so that I will
actually use them on a
weekly basis.

Once again the resale of race cars is very limited. You might have a hard time
selling them in the event you change your mind or God forbid something happens
to you.

Regards
Robin

Hi Robin,
My stable consists of a Ginetta G4 (race car) a 1972 Mallock 11b and two Marcos #5131 and #4003 an early hillclimb car, I've sold my Caterham twincam last year and my Ginetta G27 went to Florida in Jan. the Tvr I desire is a Vixen S2 with 1600 x-flow.
I live on the west coast of Canada, my other desirable car is a Piper GTT, have you seen one?
At my age I don't care about re-selling cars or keeping them authentic, just the enjoyment of building and racing.........

Re: Marcos Parts (Wooden)

Hello:
I really would be your last man on the list who would get anything. I have wooden#5156 (1968). That I work on from time to time---but probably will not see a road for 10-15 years. Wahtever you have left over i might want to take a look at in December when I will have some holiday $$$. Wher edo you live (or ship from?). If you ever have site that has pictures, that would be nice. LIke ai said, I have no money, and if you have left over still hanging around, maybe I would be interested in December.

Hi:

Wow what a nice garage.

I will keep my eyes out for one. I am a member of the TVR club and hear about
cars for sale.

I love cars also. My interest in British cars came in the past few years.

I enjoy building and driving cars also. In the past few years I have tried to
drive just about anything
I have two military vehicle for offroad.
I have dirt bikes to ride with my sons
I have a Steeda mustang which I drag race
I have the other cars that I take to local auto cross and open track days
I am game for anything with wheels or even tracks......

Did you own the blue G27 that wirewheel has?
That car is very very nice. I thought about borrowing on my 401K to buy it.
May I ask how much you sold it for?

I saw a yellow cosworth powered G4 kick the pants off GT2 class cars at the
Coronado Festival of Speed.

There is a very fun video on youtube.

Best Regards
Robin

Hi Robin,
My stable consists of a Ginetta G4 (race car) a 1972 Mallock 11b and two Marcos
#5131 and #4003 an early hillclimb car, I've sold my Caterham twincam last year
and my Ginetta G27 went to Florida in Jan. the Tvr I desire is a Vixen S2 with
1600 x-flow.
I live on the west coast of Canada, my other desirable car is a Piper GTT, have
you seen one?
At my age I don't care about re-selling cars or keeping them authentic, just the
enjoyment of building and racing.........
