Autoweek article

2011-03-20 by Don

In the Mar 21, 2011 Autoweek mag on page 38 there is an article about the Ocean Reef Vintage Weekend held in Key Largo, Florida. In the article it mentions a 1967 Marcos 1600 GT owned by Bob and Pat Freeman.

Anyone know of this car ?? I assume it's in Florida.

You've got my interest up as I live about 25 miles south of the Reef. Ocean Reef is a very exclusive gated community at the very north part of the Florida Keys and they do have a good car show. It is usually hard to get in to without an invitation or costly fee. I only heard about the turbine jet powered Mini Cooper (current model) as I haven't attended for a few years now. I will ask around to try to find out about the Marcos.
Many Reef residents are snowbirds, so the Marcos could have come from anywhere up north as a winter "fun" car.

Marcos For Sale

2011-04-08 by Christopher Scafario

Don,

I tried reaching out to you earlier this week regarding reactivating my Marcos Maniacs membership and…just as importantly I would like very much to talk to you about The Marcos currently listed for sale.

We spoke about 6 years ago when I bought a 3L Volvo powered, orange GT. Unfortunately I was stupid enough to sell the car prior to moving to Manhattan. Now, I am back in the burbs and officially have an extra open bay in my garage. I am looking forward to settling down with a nice Marcos and was hopping you could help a guy out.

My number is (609) 289 2893. You can call me at any time or shoot emails back and forth if that is your preference.

Thanks!
Chris
