Valve covers, Essex V6

Valve covers, Essex V6

2011-12-14 by Dave Penny

V6 essex engine.
I want to change my rocker boxes from the pressed steel to aluminum, purely a cosmetic issue.
Are there any other engines that have rocker boxes that will fit?
or is there anybody out there that have a pair for sale?
I'm in Florida.

I've seen alloy valve covers for an Essex offered for sale on a British website a couple years back. It may have been a Scimtar site? If you do a little searching on the internet, you should find something. I doubt there is much to be found for that engine in the USA as it was never officially imported here. There are numerous english cars that used that powerplant and I am sure the valve covers are unique to that engine.
What part of Florida? Thats where I am too.

Dave have you considered carbon fiber covers? I have a carbon fiber shop in
Saratoga Springs NY and we have made specialty items for all makes and
models of cars. Currently my son is restoring a 1965 Marcos. We can use
your current covers to make the molds and would return them with the CF
covers.

Hi Dave,
Burton Power has, or at least had, valve covers for the Essex V6. Their 2003 catalog list them at 141.70 English pounds (for a pair). Their web site is www.burtonpower.com.
