Anyone know if the wheels from a late '60s 1800 volvo-engined car will fit on a 1973 3 litre (Volvo) car? My father has the Marcos about 250miles away and wants me to buy him some wheels that he's seen advertised. The PCD sounds similar, but I'm not sure. Martin

Welcome Martin! Paul Dransfield has a 3 carb marine set-up on his I believe and Mark Petrinovich has the stock set-up. You can check out both cars at the "Marcos Maniacs" website. Both gentlemen also subscribe to this list. Where are you/the car located? In the states? Hi Don, I'm in Farnborough, England (about 40miles SW of London). Unfortunately the car is at my father's house in Cornwall (far SW of England, about 250 miles away), so I only get to play with the car now and again. It's much more fun to drive when I'm in the car on my own though - I don't like driving it slowly, it doesn't feel "right" somehow. There are lots of empty tight and twisty roads in Cornwall - hussling the Marcos along them is loads of fun, the handling really shines at high speed. Thanks for the pointers, I'll check out this site more fully tomorrow at work - I'm on a 56k link here at home. I'll try to get hold of some pics and post them here too. Martin, Without knowing the stud diameter of the Volvo P1800, I couldn't tell you but the stud diameter for the 3 litre Volvo Marcos is 4 1/4 inches. At least that's what's on my car. Regards, Paul Dransfield 3 litre Volvo

My references indicate the Volvo had a five stud wheel with a PCD of 4 1/2 inches ( 122 series was the same as the 1800) see: http://www.geocities.com/MotorCity/Pit/9975/dataBySubject/WheelBoltPatterns. html David McCubbin Mosaix Campaign Administrator Loyalty/Telesales * 151 - 4898 *(416) 213 - 4898 * dmccubbi@...

Thanks for verifying the PCD Paul, I asked my father to measure it up last night - he's not very mechanically minded though (came up with 4 1/8, which sounded unlikely). Apparently, these 1800 wheels also have 4 1/4" PCD. I'm going over to have a look at them tomorrow - I'll post the results here. Hello Martin The pattern on my 71 Volvo 3 litre powered Marcos is 3.75 pdc with four 7/16ths studs. I am guessing that your fathers car has the same induction set up as mine,I also to have hade a little trouble adjusting the idle ,it ticks over ok now but does smell a bit rich.If you do change to the triple carberator or an injection system please let us know how things go. Good luck .Mark
