Brake Flexi Hose

Brake Flexi Hose

2002-02-04 by goldrivervic

Hello group,

I need to replace the brake flexi hose from the master cylinder. My
Marcos model is 1970 factory built Ford 3L Chassis number 3M/5736. I
think that the brake cylinder is a Girling. Can anybody tell me were
I can buy the replacement.

Another small thing that needs fixing is the front headlamp Bezels.
The head lamps are the square shape with single lamp. Can anybody
tell me were i can buy these.

I am based in UK

Best regards

Vic

Vic,

You could try heritage spares, but a cheaper, quicker and better
solution (if originality isn't your credo) is to get one made up from
aeroquip hosing.

I had to do this a few years back and was astonished by the increased
feel through the brake pedal. Best £12 I ever spent on a car, I can
assure you.

Cheers,

Mark

Thank you for your reply, it is very much appreciated.

I have a reply from Marcos Heritage, who will make the part for me. However,
they are unable to help with the headlamp bezlers.

Regards

Vic.

Vic,

Are you having a rubber one made or "Aeroquip"?? I've just rebuilt
my clutch and brake master cyls and replaced my brake lines
with "Aeroquip" from Rory. The only weak link is the hose you speak
of.

By the way, my clutch and brake master cyls are both Girling 3/4"
bores. I found Volvo repair kits that have the proper parts. The
clutch slave cyl is a Girling 7/8" bore and I got that kit from
Scimitar International but they are no longer doing any mail business.

Don,

Do you happen to know what the part numbers are for the Volvo repair kits
for the clutch and brake master cylinders? If so, please post them.

Hi Don,

I have just received a nice shiny new flexi hose from Roy at Marcos
Heritage. It looks like its made out of weave steel.

Great

Another site update

2002-02-10 by Jeff Caraway

Hi All,
I just wanted to let everyone know that I have made another site update.
Please check out the "mystery restoration" that Don Lattimer sent. It is
very cool!
I have also changed the registry a little so that it is easier to see
which cars might be for sale and I added some more cars.

Some of you might notice a new section called "Racing". It isn't near
complete yet, but I will have some very cool information there in the
near future, so keep checking in!

I didn't get very many votes last time on the photo gallery issue, so
please speak up!
Should it go, or should it stay?

Thanks,
Jeff

Jeff,

Really no need for photo section. BTW, our photo section here is at
80%.

Hi Group,
80% of what? Do we need to start removing photos? While some of the photos could easily be removed (IMHO) there are some that would be nice to have in a archive of some sort. Perhaps we need the photo gallery afterall will albums devoted to things like "maintaince", "repairs", "modifications", "articles" etc. As our membership grows so will our need for additional photo space.

Re: [MarcosManiacs] Re: Another site update

I believe the photo gallery is one of the best features of the web site. We
may need to consider setting a limit of the number of beauty photos per owner
though. At a minimum we need to have one photo of each member's car,
preferably with the owner as many of us are likely to never actually meet
each other.

It would also be nice to have restoration photos, especially those showing
the framework and other bits that can't be seen in a fully assembled car.
These may need to be saved off-line and added when a member puts in a request.

Re: Another site update

Are we on the same page here?? We have the "photos" section on this
site and the "photos" section on Jeff's site. If you look on
the "photos" page on this site, down in the lower right-hand corner
it says we've used 81% of our alloted 30MB.

Might be nice to have a picture(s) of each persons car on this site
because this site seems to be what people find first. Mike's idea
sounds good. That way all "repairs", etc. would be in their own
folders or page. More suggestions??

Picture Dilemma

2002-02-12 by Jeff Caraway

Hi All,
I have some ideas to address our picture dilemma.
We can set these guidelines:
Everyone gets one shot of their car on the Yahoo site. All other
pictures can be sent to me and I will post them on the Maniacs web-site.
Technical photos will get "aged" out after 1 month and then get posted
into separate sections on the Maniac's site.

That was my original intention for the Maniac's Photo Gallery to begin
with, but it currently needs some sorting to be more effective and
enjoyable.

Sound OK to everyone???

Oh. and I will also remove those pictures that don't work. There are
some that seem to have broken links and don't actually come up when you
click on them.
