I've often wondered how "my" old 400 is doing....purchased in Sandusky OH at Lombardi Music in 1972...serial # 328....allegedly the second tron in Ohio at the time. Dave Kean sold it for me to someone in New York area in the late 90s...I had an Anvil ATA case and babied the thing all the time I had it (25 years) and usually was on one end of it when it was moved. When the unit was picked up for shipping to the new owner they turned the case UPSIDE DOWN(!) argghhh so Kean said when the guy got it there were problems. I had the paint job re-done before I sold it. The lid had multiple cracks in the paint finish from the day I got it. Fortunately I recorded each note of my tape sets onto my Tascam for archival storage and sampling (now residing in my E4K). I still wonder where it wound up.... I had the tron on mountain tops in California and desert heat in Arizona and Arctic subzero temps of the Midwest and it only broke down once in Las Vegas (a big blue capacitor blew) and only ever broke a couple of tapes...not bad for 25 years. But I always treated it like an acoustic guitar when it was moved, and kept it clean and demagged.
