Here is a reply to an earlier private message from the distinguished Mr.  
Gallo. This is before I saw his vitriolic response to my defense of Mike  Dickson:
 
He got one part possibly right. I might be an asshole.You all can decide  for 
yourselves. You've all known me far longer that semi-famous B movie actor  
and 2nd rate musician Vincent Gallo. Keep in mind, I wrote this to him privately 
 before I saw how he ripped me on the list.
 
So now he has to pay. Feel the love.

The facts are, Vincent, you may be a decent actor, although you have  never 
been anything more than a bit player in anything more than a B film.  However, 
Mike Dickson is a fabulous musician who just happens to have a dry  English 
wit that some folks can't handle.
 
I'm sorry that your (apparently) weak character won't allow you to have  your 
chops busted. Dickson has laid far heavier material on me than that a  
million times. I can only assume that you are so used to getting your ass  kissed 
that you can't take even minor criticism. C'mon man, jump in and have  some fun. 
Forget that your "all that" and hang out. Show folks that the  zillions of 
people that think you are a self possessed light weight asshole  are wrong.
 
Vincent, we are all people here. You seem to think that you are special.  I 
thought that you were a pretty normal guy until now. I have heard  NOTHING but 
bad shit about you. 99% of everyone seems to think you are a two  bit flake. I 
had no opinion like that until now. You obviously:
 
A: have no sense of humor
 
B: think you are all that
 
C: Don't believe that those who defend their friends can still be your  
friend.
 
D: have no sense of humor.
 
Don't come around here if you have tiny balls. We don't give a shit what  you 
do for a living. We only give a shit about what you contribute. If you  wanna 
bust balls, that's fair. If you don't want yours busted back... Fuck  off. 
You're a pansy. Earlier, you contributed some useful information. You  went out 
a bit and Mike Dick..soned you. Get over it. We like the good stuff.  We'll 
take the bullshit too as long as you can take it back.
 
I'm no asshole, but I am loyal. And If I need to be loyal to you, you can  
count on it. In fact, I have been. So back off and get a 2nd ball, OK? You're  
not my friend... yet. But you can be if you back off a bit. If you don't want  
me as yours... darn!
 
And if you still think I'm an asshole. Who care's? I am at the top of my  
game in my career and I have a great reputation and 25 years off success. I  have 
had over 23,000 clients. I also have a lot of friends on the  Mellotronists 
list. I didn't get pissed when you tried to pass off the  significance of my 
Mellotron work. I just chalked it up to you having your own  opinion.
 
Opinions are like assholes. Don't be one. OK
