just like a pub, isn't it?

ah yes, diane wasn't it? with a load of exclamation marks that occasionally
looked like a keyboard. near-sighted, medicated mood-swings, and for some
reason, a passing interest in our little community. oh, happy days.
I also remember getting dave k all steamed up over whether or not one should
bother degaussing the tach head, it being a tape-head like the other thirty
five, but also being next to magnetised parts...... that was the time before
last that he left.
then brian "cookbook" kehew left, because "we" were fighting about something
else.

it appears that we can't be allowed to discuss things of a technical or
scientific nature without someone either coming over all smart-arsed and
final-word-on-the-subject about it, or chucking mud. sometimes both. that can
be quite fun sometimes, but not when commerce and livelihoods are involved.
then it can get legal.

well, fuck it. that's not what we're here for, is it?
I would prefer that any sales or support issues be freely discussed on and by
the list, but if this undignified spectacle is going to happen every time
then I'd rather go to the pub and watch a real fight....
still, we'll all be laughing about this in six months.
dictionary definitions of fascism on the 'tron list? fantastic; this goes
into my (eventual) thesis on "confusion and/or offence arising from
carelessly conversational use of electronic mailing systems due to
accidentally-assumed-familiarity with correspondents and/or the medium, and
why counter-measures need to come from people and not automation". it won't
take long to write it with material like this.
