RE: [Mellotronists] Rythmmate rythms

2004-02-12 by Pomeroy Ranch

Based on the literature in my small collection.the Models 25, 35 and 45
could be acquired with one of three series of sixteen sounds:
*	"A" series - The common rhythms known to the average home
organist, pianist or guitarist, ect. [sic]
*	"B" series - These rhythms are a more advanced pattern of
rhythms with "hot licks" for the more professional musician. These tapes
are interchangeable by the dealer or owner in a few minutes.
*	"C" series - Rock and Roll
There is a listing on the brochure: "Fox Trot, Jazz waltz, Marches,
Polka, Waltz, Cha-Cha, Rhumba, Tango, Bossanova, Samba, Western, Rock N
Roll, And many more rhythms"

The 35 and 45 are self-contained with amp and speaker, with optional
reverb, and the 25 was just the tape unit which one was supposed to plug
into their Kimball or other organ. The Models 20, 30 and 40 had 42
rhythms - with a similar listing.

Now my Riviera Model 800 brochures - Harry's 4-manual with bass pedals
monsters with all the bells and whistles, literally - show these as the
rhythms: "Vienese Waltz, 4/4 184, 4/4 144, Dixieland, Fox Trot 112, Fox
Trot 96, Bossa-Nova, Samba, Rhumba, Bolero, Standard Waltz, Cha-Cha".

And that is about all anyone will ever want to know about Rhythmate
sounds..
Vance
