It was withdrawn.  I had a bid at around $1675 - which
was the winning bid when I checked, yeserday.

The explanation for withdrawing the auction: "posted
information was inaccurate".

I am now on the hunt for a very inexpensive mellotron.
 Do they exist?  Well...

...I checked Craigslist in a few urban areas
(..haven't seen one advertised in the SF Bay area for
the past year or so..)  LA, Atlanta, Seattle, Vegas -
no matches.  New York, however - one was listed last
week for $800!

I sent an email to the contact person - he'd sold it
pretty quick.  Apparently it wasn't in the most
aesthetic condition, I would care - as long as it was
working!

I think I'm just going to have to save a few grand in
a 'tron fund...
