I am on a roll with the Pinder CD and my E4K making banks of combinations. I loaded up Chamberlin 3 violins,MK2 violins, and 16 violins tuned then linked them all...panned the Chamberlin and MK 2 to opposite sides and left the 16 violins in the middle and assigned filter, attack, and release for each sound to the control sliders.Very nice!! Regarding guys using samplers vs. the real deal...you have to LOVE the sound to begin with and go to great lengths to replicate it convincingly.I don't know about the Strawbs or Wakeman or whoever but it's clear that Hackett loves his tron sound and wants it close as possible for stage without the possible breakdowns of the real deal.Justin Hayward apparently insists on the same thing for the Moodies from their keyboardists for their hits. Since I owned an M400 for 25 years and love the sound(and the machines as well) I feel qualified to be able to get it as right as it can be on my EMU.
