I heard from a down-at-the-heels tinker whom I once met on the streets
of Lower-Upper Blithbury near Rugely, that if you play the intro
backwards by the light of the full moon when it falls on Midsummer's
Eve, that the resulting music sounds just like Seiks eht fo Rehctaw,
which as everyone knows is an ancient Celtic phrase (I think it's
Cornish) meaning "Don't take silly things in life too seriously".

More importantly, doing the above will supposedly magically cause the
mixed brass/3 violin sound suddenly and forever TO PLAY PERFECTLY IN
TUNE even when your mellotron is not turned on! (Martinge swears this
is true.) It's the reason he and JB drag their Mk I's down to the Twat
and Handbag, located in the heart of Lower-upper Blithbury near Rugely,
every Midsummer's Eve -- although I think it's because the publicans at
this fine drinking establishment offer free pints to anyone who brings
in a dual keyboard tape replay organ on that particular evening.

We should all get together on the coming Midsummer's Eve at Colins
place to stage a mass play-in to see if it works. What do you think?
