Duncan Goddard, Gary Houghton, and Steve Dinsdale are part of Radio Massacre International, an electronic music trio out of the UK. Loads of 'tron and old synths, sequencers, plus guitar. Recently they have added drums just for something different! http://www.rmi.dircon.co.uk/ I will have a review on my web site of their recent concert in Philadelphia soon. RMI have several "official" releases plus many many home-grown releases of studio and live material. The sound? Well, I'll avoid using the obvious Tangerine Dream reference. RMI's sound is a bit more raw than that. But you have mostly long tunes with sequencers, the occasional noise maker synths, some lead bits, and some spicy guitar work thrown over the top (NOTHING like Edgar Froese's guitar, thankfully---much more fitting to the rest of the music). RMI's stuff is pretty much improvised, too--"six hands making music" I think someone said (and I think that was Duncan). They're a good group of lads, btw. It was great meeting them in Philly, and I enjoyed their concert. I won't forget them warming up in the church during the afternoon on 2 'trons (Ian M. flute + 'tron flute) along with the church's organ...one of those hair standing up on the back of the neck moments... ...kl...
