Hello folks

I have just acquired an M400, s/n (IthinK) 955, that actually belongs
to the School of Music here, but it has been languishing for some
years in the basement, and they have let me take it away to play with
it. It works, sort of..., but some notes don't do anything and most
of the others have a lot of 'wow' and/or sound quite muffled. Might
it be that the tapes are just too old. A couple have snapped and I do
have a spare tape frame with the same sounds (I think the standard
choir/strings/brass), but it looks like a fair bit of work to get it
going again.

I have had a quiet passion for these machines for many years, since
listening to all those classic King Crimson/Moody Blues albums thirty
odd ago and, if I can get it working, have a few silly ideas of doing
things with it.

Hope I don't have to ask too many really dumb questions

cheers

graham
