Jerry did a fab job taking the "Mooatron", getting it cycling again,
reinforcing the various framey bits, refinishing it, and whatever else. I
got to fix the pad arm for one key, but I'll take any credit any way I can
get it! :-)

Parts courtesy of Martin and John, of course, including the spiffy new motor.

Gee, I do miss the huge gouge in the cabinet at the front and the string
holding the frame from bending in the back, though. Oh well.

I find the sound of the FX to be close to an M400, which makes sense (solid
state preamps, low impedance heads). Only it's got the Mark II
playability, two keyboards, and all those sounds! One other thing that
makes the SFX different from anything else is the split head blocks. Each
keyboard can have 2 different sounds, as the head block is split in the
middle. This seems like it'll be pretty useful, actually.

No more "mooooo" though...:-(...the old FX tapes have been removed and
replaced with "regular" tapes.

The "trip report" of the unveiling of FX Console #6 (#10006, really) will
be out on the web site in the next few weeks.

Congrats, Jimmy---very nice machine there, and may you have many years of
enjoyment with it!

...kl...
M400 #805 - sounds exactly like an m400
M400 #1037 - ditto!
