Over the past 40 years, lots of great music has been composed, and/or performed / recorded with Mellotrons and Chamberlins. It's nice to use the same original equipment. Most guitarists would prefer using a genuine Les Paul over a copy....even though some of the copies are fine instruments. When you are familiar with the somewhat awkward feel of a 'tron keyboard, a sampler keyboard doesn't 'feel' quite right. The unique 'tron sounds go together with the unique keyboard feel. Some 'tron samples are looped. (no 8 second limitation) This is a bad thing if you want to be make authentic 'tron music. Some of the 'tron samples are not looped and sound just like the real deal. Opinions vary on this, but I have no reservations about using 'tron samples. Remember the convenience factor! Clay
