Re: New Streetly 'Tron

2005-10-11 by mellotrongirl

I was talking with a Troniac a couple days ago, and I get the vibe
that there is consumer demand for a machine that is stable/roadworthy,
somewhat of a nice looking piece of furniture (as opposed to a white
box, but not as wood grain/shellac perfect as a MkII), and has much
more of a sound bank collection. Something with "stations" w/o all the
cycling, but with tapes to keep the original *technology* in tact.
Something wihout all the rack transfer hassle.

I envision the new machine will have two keyboards...

Personally, I'd like to see the slim/portable version of what ever is
planned new. Folks have cut the bases and legs off of Hammonds and
Optigans ("choptigan")--a new Mellotron with a kind of a Chanberlin M-
1/Mellotron M-300 marriage would be nice...IMHO

I'd buy 'em both in a heartbeat right after I leave the casino.
