WOW! So many replies so quickly!
Thanks a lot guys, it´s a great relief to know I can count on
you.
Well, in reply to:
MARKUS: the pinch roller seems to be
at around the same height as the other ones, or even higher. So it can´t be that
it is adjusted too hard.
MARTIN: damn, your list of possible
problems quite scared me! I hope it´s something that I can easily fix. About the
keyboard being heavy to play, unfortunately I don´t have any mellys around to
compare to. Disadvantages of living here in Argentina, where there are around 5
machines in total. And I don´t know personally the other owners, possibly a
couple of famous names here... :-(
I dind´t get the "Then try backing
off the pad" part, but I assume you´re taking about the same method Markus and
Jerry are talking about. I´ll try this now.
JERRY: The "key travel distance of 3/8 inch" your talking about, what does
it refer to? The height of the adjustment screws in the key? Anyway, I´ll try
what you say.
and to all you three: the key number
is 14, Ab. One thing I noticed, is that when I take the key with two fingers and
lift it up a bit it rewinds. I hope it doesn´t mean I´ll have to change the
spring on the keyboard or whatever.
(Don´t I sound a bit like Woody
Allen, fearing always the worst? ;-)
