Moodies/Pinder/Wolstenholme

I've been thinking that the Moody Blues might have fared better if they approached Woolley Wolstenholme from BJH when he left that band, which I think was right around the same time as Mike left the Moodies. Woolley's sound and songwriting was/is a lot closer to Mike's "mystical" energy than Patrick Moraz. Of course Patrick gave them their 80s techno sound which probably accounted for much of their success but Woolley is a "Mellotronist" and Patrick, while he played tron, was more of a multikeyboard wizard and never really embraced the tron as an upfront featured instrument (perhaps a bit on REFUGEE). In retrospect I really feel Woolley's playing and voice would have been perfect for the Moodies....(I wonder if they ever considered it?)
