MIDI mod for mellotron

have you ever seen a MIDI-fied mellotron or chamberlin? does anyone do these or know how to do these? i would eagerly put down some dollars to see that go

Since a Tron is totally analog, besides wiring of a port, it'd probably 
take installing some kind of processor and 35 solenoids (preferably 
steam driven with brass fittings to give the image of some 
post-Victorian nightmare) to activate the notes, or some really tiny 
little guy that could fit inside the cabinet and press the keys.  Midi 
out would probably be much easier...

Back in the early '80s, some vendor had a similarly MIDI'd 400 at  the 
Anaheim NAMM show.
