Just got the DVD and
was surprised at how much atmospheric stuff Barbieri does. I've really
liked all PT's stuff except the earliest material when it was only Mr.
Wilson. I hate it that I'm not that knocked out with Fear of a Blank
Planet...all the songs seem to lack detail. I read that they performed the
songs live for a while before recording. It's ironic that you can leave
out some of the intricate parts in a live setting and it's not missed
because of the vibe of the moment...but it doesn't work the other way around.
Clay,
No doubt! A fantastic album and a great show in NYC last week...

The CD Fear of a Blank Planet is very good. Richard Barbieri uses
mellotron samples (M Tron) a fair bit on this CD.
My rating out of 10?
