[Mellotronists] Pax Mellotronica...

[Mellotronists] Pax Mellotronica...

2007-06-05 by Mark Wallis

Hi Martin and All.

Sorry to have lowered the tone somewhat, I feel a bit like a red-faced
out-of-breath schoolboy explaining himself in the headmaster's office after
a playground scrap..

Of course. I suppose I hadn't made it clear that I DO regard the genuine
article as so much more than a sample playback machine. I'm obsessed with
the thing, she bewitches the majority of people who hear or play her and I
take every opportunity to celebrate, promote and indeed mythologise the
Mellotron. My defence of software and hardware emulations was based on my
belief that such things help the cause, "engendering respect for the
original achievement and appreciation of the new tape-replay machines.." and
generally making people want to buy real LIVE 'singing fridges'.

Anyway, what about the Villa?* ;-)

Love and Scones,

Mark.

To Mark and all,

Knowing Mark for many a long year, the inadequacies of email to convey the
nuances of speech are highlighted by this passive gentleman being seen as an
aggressor. Quelle f*****g b******s is all I can say.

Mark, no need to apologize for defending your opinion (I've yet to apologize for being the instigator with my Memotron comment ). As you can see, we all have opinions here and just because we're all Mellotron lovers, it doesn't mean we have to have the same ones.

Bernie
