An amazing video

An amazing video

2007-09-05 by Rick Blechta

I was searching on Youtube and found a recording of Martin Smith as a
"young man" performing on European TV. This is a really outstanding
performance. JB is playing the keyboard part at the beginning, I
believe. It's not a mellotron, but he does a very credible job.

Which reminds me, if you haven't seen this version of Apache, consider
yourself lucky - though a strong case can be made for the "indians".

Hi!

There is actually the Finnish bass wizard PEKKA POHJOLA playing
bass in the video!

Better known from his work in Wigwam, solo records and
collaboration with Mike Oldfield. It looks like he had to play so
more entertaining stuff to earn his living :-)

Well, he certainly is the best thing on the video, obviously a VERY good bass player. Actually, the people hired to play on the original Village People recordings were some of NY's best musicians. Moral: you've just gotta pay the bills, sometimes.
