Having played a MKII over the years, Pinder rolled off anything above 10kz, 
 maybe even a little lower.  The sound they got was refined more and more 
by  miking a room with the the Marshall amp in it and then sending that 
through  an EMT plate.  And Pinder used lots of footpedal so you rarely heard  
the start of any note.  Watching and Waiting is a great example of M300 A  
violins played entirely live with pedal control at maximum, using reverb to  
carry the performance.
