Hello there folks in Mellotron land!

Hello there folks in Mellotron land!

2012-02-27 by capnreverb

Just joined and this is my first post. Ever since I was a kid I wanted a Mellotron and twenty five years later it finally came true. I have a m400 with two sets of tapes in my attic recording studio. Works ok but I have to futz with it a lot, but I knew when I bought it that there was going to be a learnig curve. I just love it. One set of tapes is the standard flute, cello, and strings. The other set is kinda weird. It has six sounds each divided at the center key, plus some sound effects at the end of one of the sounds. How common was that? The crappy part about that is that the sound effects are on the choir half, leaving me only an octave of choir, I wish it had been the flutes! The choir is my favorite sound, so I just ordered a new set of tapes with full choirs from Markus Resch. I look forward to reading and hopefully getting a few question answered.

Thanks!
