Melodic Mellotron

2003-02-18 by Jeff <jeffmc_425@yahoo.com>

I haven't looked through all the messages here, but anybody remember Jimmy Waldo's fabulous Mellotron renditions on New England's first album? I was listening to the CD in my car the other day, sitting in a parking lot, and two guys came up and said "Wow, is that new? Cool dude." Told 'em it was 1979-1980 Time Frame. One guy said, wow, I wasn't born then. ;)

Used to love listening to that on "mystery rides" on sundays.

Hahahahaha!!!! Just been listening to my download of 'Don't Ever Wanna Lose
Ya' - a lost AOR classic, no less! Completely ludicrous, but lots of fun,
and loads of 'Tron strings, although he's trying hard to make it sound like
a string synth. The lengthy track on their second album is apparently the
'Explorer Suite' - I've been promised a tape of this, so I'll eventually be
able to judge for myself.
