Hello Mellotrongirl and gang,

RCA NE-6 is another example of people testing the waters
on eBay. In my six years there, here are two blatant instances :

A common lightbulb (not rare Edison) with opening bid of $1 .
......But a "buy-it-now" price of $5000 !

A postal card from 1905 depicting an early railroad and canal.
Typically, this card has sold for $40.00 . This time, a new
eBay seller had buy-it-now for $1200 !

RE: shipping of Trons, I suppose Murphy's Law applies
in every aspect of the term. I don't have the colourful
transport stories as Streetly/DK and others, but my
M300 had been dropped off the rear of a truck and
split-open before I purchased it. This was the same
unit which JB lovingly shipped to DK in 1991
and was featured on DK's video series.

My beloved MK-I "Julia" had gotten quite a few
knocks and bumps as she travelled from Merced,CA
to Vermont. And this was Keyboard Carriage Inc,
a firm that "specialises in musical instrument
transport." Someone tried to use fork-lift blades under
the MK-I cabinet, resulting in split lower panel in the rear.
Their "customer service" bordered on rude-crude
when I called to file damage report.

Motto : Maybe your idea of special labels and grille
vents with recorded growls might help, Mellotrongirl !

If shippers get any more inept, we might have to affix
labels on bottoms of all beer-bottles stating :
"Open Other End."

Cheers, Jerry K. (" reserve not met, hazmat! methane danger")
