> Speaking of fucking idiots not reading history, you and others of your ilk conveniently forget the trivial event that occurred almost two years ago on 09/11/01 that precipitated the necessity of actions like the Patriot Act, you bloody Communist. I bet you have a poster of Mike Farrell on your bedroom wall. Make sure you're armed before you engage in a battle of wits. DON'T get me

Greetings All, Agreed, the 9-11 tragedies in NYC/DC/PA have
awakened us permanently. Without transforming our
Mellotronists List to one of stark political differences, I'd like to
offer my tuppence' worth and leave it at that.....nothing further.

Many like myself have watched the WTC being built and lived
in their shadows long-ago,while we were happily listening/playing
our Trons/music. When the towers fell, my initial emotions were
to level everything east of the Sea of Galilee/River Jordan.
But this wouldn't bring-back the victims or comfort those
survivors/families . "Extraordinary times demand extraordinary
measures" is the phrase which comes to mind. Not sure who
said that .

That said, I also would NOT like to see revival of "McCarthyism"
from the '50s. Many innocent people were wrongly accused of
selling-out their country, leaving perm. scars for a generation.

There must be a middle-ground found to increase security
for our citizens home/abroad, and thwart future disasters as
9-11. The Patriot Act will expire in late 2005 anyway.

Terrorists have no timetable, and those who were in any way
involved can/will wait . Weakness is something the USA
dare not show . I'd be more ashamed of a leader that
did nothing in the aftermath of 9-11, than one who made a
stand . I stood at Ground Zero twice, once as civilian and
again with Guard Reserves, and not a dry eye there.

I'll get off my soap-box now..............Jerry K.

Without wanting to completely and utterly ghast all our
Amerikkkan readers' flabbers,
if I might just offer them a modest amount International
Perspective:

I spent the first 20 years of my life in Northern Ireland,
with plenty of bombs and terrorism, mostly all funded by
donations from little old ladies from Boston.
I was already quite "awakened" to terrorism, thank you very
much. All this 9/11 hysteria comes across as all too much
of My First Pint.
