Greetings All, First, I wish to thank MellotronGirl for that funny analogy. I copied/sent it along to friends of mine who recently had twin daughters. They'll get a real kick out of it ! Frank's Stickle's eloquent words brought the following to mind. This is an small excerpt written in 1953 : " I remember the muffled-sound of muleteams straining to ease 70-ton canal-boats into the narrow locks. I remember the thunderous roar of water rushing underground, the taut wire-ropes pulling the boats over the inclined planes. I remember the sounds of boatmen's conch shells coming farther and farther apart. I remember the sounds of a locomotive whistle and then those new-fangled automobiles nearby. I remember moss and then weeds on my crumbling banks. I remember a long and lonely silence, and I waited for decades. .....One day, a knowing and sympathetic voice spoke to me. After oblivion,I was discovered again. ......The discovery was mutual. " That was written 50 years ago,by a historian of NJ's historic and unique Morris Canal. But totally appropriate for Mellotrons as well. With each Mellotron rediscovered and restored, those voices truly will be grateful once more From the 170-yr.old towpath in the hills, Jerry Korb
