The Orchestron on eBay--100 pounds?!? That's the weight of a couple Optigans. Must be the bulletproof road case. Those bigger monster model Orchestrons--you'd think a little better fidelity would come out of something like that. Filmstrip light aperature audio reproduction--seems truly archaic with Talentmakers, Optigans and Orchestrons even back 25-30 years ago, but we all can think of some pretty good old black and white movies that had decent audio. It must have been quite a feat to record big band orchestras when that was the recording medium...before the lame wire recordings of the 40's and the advent of (hooray!) tape. Great Moodies song actually--sounds like a lost track from 1968 from the In Search Of The Lost Chord era. Detailed history of this track please! For an instant, I thought it might have been one of the studio tracks on the Caught Live + Five double. The first track was a gem too--the way it builds and utilises layers of Mellotron variety. Detailed history on that one too, please.
