Moodies: Orchestra or Mellotron?

Moodies: Orchestra or Mellotron?

2003-12-04 by mellotrongirl

** the Moodies playing live and incorporating the local orchestras to
play with them on various legs of the tour...wow--how expensive...let
alone the co-ordinating the orchestras involved, can THAT Be? If
Pinder was still with them during the Red Rocks touring episodes, I'm
sure lugging the good ol' highly reliable Mk2 would be the instant
option.

I wonder if people would still go to the concerts if the whole
orchestra was absent and the band went back to gigging with the
Mellotron. I worry about the Moodies fan base shift when topics focus
on *heartthrob" Hayward's personal life. C'mon, people! If ever there
was a band that was more about the MUSIC...!

For now, maybe the Moody Blues can hire on Ryan Patrick Guidry to
replace Thomas.

They'd save gobs of cash on the tour---same sound, and it could be a solo
concert!
