OT: Mike Pinder Mellotron Sample CD question

OT: Mike Pinder Mellotron Sample CD question

2004-02-19 by Linda Dachtyl

Has anyone used this sample CD?

http://www.mellotron.com/cdlist.htm

Do you just load in, pick the sample patch and play......... or do you
have to map the sample yourself?

(I see even though they are Akai samples........ it is ASR-10
compatible, which is the sampler I have.)

Also, someone sent me a page that compared the real tron with the
Roland MVS-1 unit. I can't seem to find the link. If you have it,
please email me.

Thanks,

Linda

Hi Linda
the Pinder CD has different folders containing banks...you just
select a sound and load it in.It's already mapped(no loops)I use an
EMU E4K with it and it sounds splendid.

Hi Linda'
I have used this CD (Pinder) extensively on my ASR-10, and the ASR-x
also. It is absolutely the best way to go besides carrying around a Melltron
Which I did when I was younger. The sounds are very close. A little EQing
here and there does,nt hurt either.
There is a bunch of ways to fit say, Strings/Cello/Flute/Choir on the
sampler all at once if you'd like. They are Akai based samples and you
"Import" them on to your ASR via a SCSI CD. Save them back on to hard drive
or Zip drive via SCSI. The CD is still $199.

...and an ASR-10 will import AKAI CDROMs with decent accuracy.
very little lost in the translation.
there is a specific procedure if i recall - read you manual.
and the pindertron CD works just fine.

[also, ROLAND S-7xx series CDROMs can be imported...]
