I can't believe what I'm reading- was there really a version of the pre-amp
based on a 741? I only ever saw these things being used in fuzz-boxes.... if I
could lay me hands on the pin-out, I'd recommend a drop-in replacement.
whatever, there are many superior op-amps that would give better audio performance
than a 741; the tl071c & the ne5534 have turned up in many high-end audio
devices including studers & neves.....

duncan/1098 (no hiss, no hum)

p.s. ta, ken, for the write-up. some nice pics on y'r site too.

Thank you, sir!

...and for those of you wondering to what Mr. Goddard is referring:

http://www.kleonard.com/music/concerts/rmi040508.htm

...a review of the RMI Philly gig with pics, some web site links, a short
movie, and a suggested listening list (thanks, Duncan!). RMI was joined on
stage by two 'trons, Jimmy's Formicatron and Jeff Coultier's machine (and a
Synthi AKS).

Enjoy!

AND---there's a LOT MORE that will be hitting the web site very soon, as we
have been VERY busy here at MONEYPIT HQ this spring with things Mellotronic
(MONEYPIT = Mellotron Owners of New England---but...uhhh...well...New
England and Elsewhere :-) ). Your Webmaster is waiting for some things to
get wrapped up and for some snippets of the new sounds from Mr. Fritz (yo
dude!). I'll then get the pages/pictures out there for you all to
see. Stay tuned!
